MISSION

Our mission is to empower young Africans to work toward a better world through local and global initiatives in poverty eradication, human rights, environmental conservation & management, and social development.

VISION

1. Respecting and caring for the community of life that sustains me, and protecting ecological integrity.
2.wPromoting a culture of democracy, social justice, and peace and progress.
3. Reducing my careless attitude to environmental and human resources.

The African Youth Movement has matured since then and has been active through engaging talented young African professionals to develop the organisation and develop its services. It has contributed immensely to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and its Preparatory Meetings; having represented the Global Youth Forum at the Johannesburg Earth Summit in August-September 2002.

We also call on our elder generations and those in power to support and mentor us in our vision. To help us shape the present so that future citizens will not remember our generation as one of wasteful consumerism and social blindness. Today we take responsibility so that the youths of tomorrow will remember our era as one of responsible living and positive change.

As students and youths living in the most impoverished of cities, we recognize that this change will not come without a price or responsibility; therefore we did commit ourselves towards making a positive contribution to the future by taking environmental responsibility and promoting sustainable development in our daily lives through the following;
